As some of their markets wind down for the winter, Street Feasts Dinerama site will be powering on stronger than ever before under its all weather roof. I was invited back as their food photographer to capture a few of the lesser documented traders doing their thing. I then of course ate the outcomes.
First up was Fundi - makers of simply incredible pizza. I watched as Charlie threw dough through the air to make a base, before topping it and whacking it in their own hand made ovens. Their pizza is out of this world!
Ferang are the Street Feast new kids on the block. I've chatted with them at length everytime ive shot them and they are an incredibly passionate crew of young chefs. They make thai food, but not the british takeaway versions you are so used to. These are authentic seasonal ingredients and the results and stunning.
You Doughnut is always on my must visit list at Dinerama. They do exceptional Doughnuts with a salted caramel sauce and cornflake ice cream. They really don't need an introduction, good flavours sell themselves.
Yum Bun are an old favourite of the Street Food scene. Rice buns with various fillings and classic asian flavours. They always seem to have the darkest site on any site which makes photographing them a whole new world of tricky, but the food always manages to sing.
BBQ Lab don't do much BBQ or much Lab anymore, they are now a purveyor of fine chicken wings. Experimental flavours (mango) as well as the classics (blue cheese dip) top their crispy wings and make a finger licking treat. Owner Matt describes his love of American cooking following his time driving racing cars there, I can't help but share his passion, there really is a fine art to gluttony.
