/ Talented Mr Fox
In 2013 I was commissioned by the brilliant Delilah PR to photograph cocktail king, mixologist and master bar man and cocktail creator Matt Whiley. At that time he was working under the title Talented Mr Fox at One Leicester Square (sadly now closed.)
Matt was from the talented team 'Fluid Movement' that created Worship Street Whistling Stop and Purl to name but a few. One Leicester Street was a diverse pop-up bar that has catered to some huge names and promises to blow away any preconceptions you might have about cocktail making. With a focus on the theatrical and the jaw dropping, the drinks menu promised a carefully crafted, multi-sensory experience and a world class cocktail selection. The bar focused on home cured and smoked produce as well as craft spirits from bespoke distillers.
Matt has come up with a canny menu of inventive drinks, mining old classics, putting a spin on
well-loved creations. The twists are bold and daring. The Bloody Mary, a classic hybrid of snack
and tipple takes an unexpected and leftfield swerve. The traditionally red drink is as clear as glass and contains the blood of a pig. Tomato juice is clarified and the vodka is distilled with the pigs’ blood to lend the concoction a distinctive iron-like flavour. Bacon powder will coat the rim of the glass to deliver an additional shot of meatiness along with a BM hydrosol atomizer for spice.
