/ The Balvenie

Last year I was invited to Scotland as part of a commission for The Balvenie; Shooting as part of their five rare crafts at their distillery in Dufftown. We assembled a team to capture The Maltings with a brief focusing on time lapses to show the time taken in the process and the hand crafted element. Working with the client and agency we realigned to give more of a sense of time and attention by combining the time lapses with high frame rate slow motion images and mood lighting.

It's always a pleasure to shoot whisky and any process where real care is taken. An incredible team as always with a special shout out to cinematography legend Ross Bolidai and timelapse king Tom Kirkman. Of course the fine work and restaurant finding of Jason Underhill and all action gaffer moves of Jack Pass cannot be overlooked.

Whilst in Dufftown we were also shooting in the Cooperage where the barrels are made and repaired. Heres head Cooper Ian Stuart working, shot for their social media campaign.
