/ What Scott Eats / No Churn Ice Cream

Chocolate Ice Cream that is rich and delicious and requires no ice cream maker just a bit of whisking and freezing? It can't be true surely? Believe me... it is!

Super simple, super tasty and only three ingredients. The best part of it is you don’t need a big expensive ice cream maker, just a whisk and a freezer. Oh, and a very big sweet tooth.

170g Carnation condensed milk (1 small tin)

600ml double cream (large supermarket carton)

6 tbsp cocoa

Tip the condensed milk into a bowl and sieve in the cocoa. Mix together making sure there are no lumps.

In another mixing bowl whisk the double cream with an electric mixer if you have one. It should peak but be careful not to over whisk it where it creates an effect a bit like curdling which isn’t desirable in an ice cream.

When whisked add a small amount of the cream to the carnation, cocoa mix and fold together, then a bit more and a bit more until all the mix is folded together. Whack it in a loaf tin or tupperware container and put it in the freezer for at least six hours or overnight.

Feel free to pimp this recipe, the addition of some nuts, some liquors like kahlua or frangelico, maybe some mint or choc chips. It’s up to you, this is a great base to work your own creative magic from.
