/ Provenance Kitchen
Another local business to me doing it’s best to weather the Covid storm and nailing it. Provenance are a family restaurant outside of Cambridge that are all about top ingredients. They have reopened for takeout during lockdown and are knocking out Saturday date night meals as well as their famous Sunday Roasts.

/ Pelican State
Pelican State is a restaurant serving food inspired by the cooking styles and flavours made famous in America's Deep South states, specifically Louisiana - The Pelican State.
“Rich, soulful and unapologetically messy - that's how we like it. Inspired by fiery cajun flavours and America's Deep South "one-pot" cooking style, we've put our own spin on these classic seafood dishes.Cheeky sauces, hearty made-to-share combos, delicious shellfish and a whole loada soul makes for a feast that we can't wait to share with you.”
It’s a classic cajun seafood sharing place. Snow crab boils, crispy seafood, fries, beer, cocktails, corn. It’s messy get stuck in food. Naturally restaurants are having to close their doors at the moment but they are serving via Deliveroo in central London right now.
/ The Dairy Bermondsey
As COVID has taken hold in 2020 we’ve seen the loss of some great restaurants, cocktail bars and watering holes. The was a huge outcry a couple of months ago when Robin Gill announced the closure of The Dairy, a popular Clapham restaurant offering British Fine Dining. No sooner had the world dried its eyes at the loss of the restaurant than they had announced they had found a new home in Bermondsey. Robin and Don Joines invited me in to shoot some food and drink to help promote their relaunch.
/ Roadhouse Menu
I was recently invited back to one of my regular clients in Modena Italy, Roadhouse. Having worked with them on their menu for a number of years as well as directing their TV campaigns. I went across with Food Stylists Jack Sargeson and Laurie Perry as well as assistant Liam DesBois to update their new menus. A collection of sandwiches, burgers, steak and sides accompany their new rib offering including Classic and Hot! We also grabbed some snaps of their sister restaurant Calavera’s new soft and hard shell tacos as well as their Bao Bun offering. Delicious.
/ Bohemia Cafe
Bohemia is one of my favourite spots. It’s a local brunch spot in Cambridgeshire my wife and I hit most weekends. During the day they do great breakfast items, a cracking full english, eggs on toast etc. Then as the day progresses it turns into a cocktail bar and tapas bar as well as having a few main meals like burgers on the menu.
In addition to the restaurant Bohemia have their very own coffee roasters next door. They do several blends and these naturally supply their restaurant, espresso martinis and coffee doughnuts as well as selling wholesale around the region.
If you are ever in Cambridgeshire I’d definitely recommend dropping in.
/ Christmas
I was lucky enough to team up with Art Dept whizz Jess Elcock and Food Stylist Laurie Perry in this Christmas Shoot. Naturally as it always is with Christmas we were shooting in July when it absolutely roasting hot outside. Turkey, Sprouts, Potatoes, What’s not to love?
/ Scotts All Day / Pizza
As everyone was getting back out into the world the lovely folks at Scott’s All Day in Cambridge invited me to get some handsome snaps of their pizza and side offering. Takeaway was at it’s peak so they were keen to push this part of their business and wow are they good.
/ American Agent
I’m delighted to announce new representation from the brilliant Susanne Bransch of BRANSCH. Her team have offices in New York as well as Paris and Germany so I will be being represented across North America as well as many parts of Europe. I will still be represented by Terri Manduca and Food Hall in the UK.
Susanne’s partner company ALL DIRECTION FILMS will be looking after me for my motion work.
/ Laurie Perry
I’ve been working with the absolute gem that is Laurie (Lol) Perry recently. She is an up and coming food stylist represented by Garden and one of the new breed of food stars. Here are a few images from a recent test day we did together.
/ Parkers Tavern
Just Before Lockdown I snuck into Parkers Tavern in Cambridge. In the old University Arms building they have created a fantastic hotel and a fantastic restaurant.
/ Manteca
Remember Chris Leach of 10 Heddon Street? Well he and David Carter (Smokestak) have finally got a bricks and mortar gig serving up the best pasta in London. Manteca serves fantastic crab tonarelli, oxtail ragu, some of the best potatoes i’ve ever eaten, agnolotti, focaccia, nduja mussels, pigs tail garganelli and my absolute favourite… Tortellini in Brodo. They are in Soho, central London and I thoroughly recommend dropping in.
/ Just Eat
Over the last few months I’ve created a real selection of images with the team at Just Eat. Firstly a few examples from a large series of studio still life style imagery. In addition we also created a catalogue of lifestyle images with the team at Just Eat to help give a softer more homey atmosphere to their imagery for the global market. I was once again working with food stylists Jack Sargeson and Rob Morris and Art Director Jess Elcock.
/ Galaxy Truffles
I was commissioned by the folks at Galaxy and AMV to create a series of films for Galaxy Truffles. Each strand of galaxy products is being marked with signature colours and truffles own blue and pink so we featured them as key parts of the image. We had to create various timed cuts for mobile and OOH boards as well as celebrating various occasions including a general gifting scene, valentines, mothers day, Christmas and so on.
/ Food Photo Festival
I was asked back for the 2019 Food Photo Festival after exhibiting and speaking in 2017. The Festival covers all things Food Photography, from animation and film through to marketing yourself. It is a meeting of photographers, agents, publishers, props men, food stylists, you name it. If they are connected with our strange little industry they will be there. Held in Vejle Denmark and hosted by the fantastic Gunter Beer the festival is a relatively new concept but a great way to get a global vision of what we do.
/ 10 Heddon Street
In June 2019 David Carter of Smokestak fame teamed up with Chris Leach king of pasta (Sager + Wilde, Petersham Nurseries) to create a new pasta concept. Chris is a truly knowledgable about Pasta and we have had many conversations discussing out love for Tortellini in Brodo or a real Ragu in Emilia Romagna.
The pop up was a great way to test the menu and see what works and what people were excited by. The pop up has since ended but the duo have opened a fully fledged bricks and mortar concept… MANTECA.
It was a great day shooting Chef portraits, great Italian pasta and some Interiors. They opened the day we shot so it was an intense one, they really went all in.
/ Castello Cheese
At the start of 2019 I was commissioned by the good folks at Castello Cheese to create some food photography of guess what… some of their cheeses. Their latest product is a series of cheeses designed specifically for burgers and as the unofficial “Burger Man” I was the guy to make it happen.
/ Stirred Travel / Puglia
In September 2019 I travelled to Puglia to photograph more of the Masseria and Southern Italian region. It was all for a commission for luxury culinary travel company Stirred Travel. Be sure to also check out my imagery of Stirred’s Veneto experience.
