I was commissioned by the brilliant Leo Burnett/Prodigious to shoot the wonderful festive range for McDonald’s. Bringing the extremely talented Udo Reichelt-Schaurer into the mix as Food Stylist alongside Tony Hutchinson on props, we created a delicious teal world that created a modern look for McDonald’s Christmas campaign in 2021.

Way back in October last year I was asked by Dishpatch to go and shoot at The Marksman in Hackney. A beautiful pub run by John Rotheram and Tom Harris. Both ex St John they serve up homeless, timely and emphatically tasty pub fare.

The Double Big Mac was launched at the end of last year but now the Chicken Big Mac has sold out it is back now.

We created some beautiful stills with the talented Rob Morris Food Stylist as well as some films for the menu boards in store. Then followed it up with a TVC With the very talented Udo Reichelt-Shaurer.

A few snaps from my non-work visit to Meatopia 2021. I was there on the Saturday and couldn’t resist doing a few laps to grab some snaps. My pick of the pops was once again Smokestak’s Brisket Bun. It goes undefeated in my book as the tastiest thing to eat in London but pretty much everything on offer this time around was wild delicious.

I’m really delighted to have won the advertising category of the Production Paradise Spotlight Awards. The image from our recent McDonald’s wrappers series won through and I’m really excited to share an interview we did together to talk about the shot.

Another great gig for Maccy D’s! This time we were playing the classics as part of their ‘Affinity’ campaign. We were tasked with shooting some of the classic menu items, Big Mac, Fries, Milkshakes, Nuggets etc. Shot on grey as a delicious but graphic still life the images would be paired with well written copy to remind us all how McDonald’s pairs with those moments in life to make perfect harmony.

I’m really excited to announce I have joined Darling as my film representation for the UK. Part of the Ridley Scott Creative Group they have a track record of making top commercials with some top food clients. I send love and thanks to everyone involved in Food Hall and am excited for the next step of my journey.

I’m really pleased to share our part series based around young smoker Ruben. Ruben created a business during lockdown smoking meats in his parents garden in Brixton and has built it up to a serious business creating delicious taco kits that sell out eat week.

Each episode focuses on a different part of Ruben & his business, The Smoke, Family, Brixton and Deliveries.

I’m delighted to announce that I have won the advertising category in the Production Paradise Spotlight Awards. I had images shortlisted across a few categories but am pleased to take home the prize.

The new McSpicy from McDonald’s is finally out, a crispy crunchy spicy crumb surrounds tender chicken breast, crunchy lettuce and cool mayo topped with a sesame seed bun. It’s not blow your head off spicy but has a nice tingle and a bit of the devil within.

I was commissioned by McDonald’s to shoot the out of home advertising campaign which plays on peoples reactions to how spicy it is. I also directed the food sequence in the TV Commercial along with production house Food Hall.

I was recently invited to shoot the OOH, menu boards and film screen content for McDonald’s latest premium burger offering, the BBQ Bacon Stack. Pepper jack cheese, bacon, two patties, tomato, lettuce and onion on a sesame seed bun, what’s not to love?

Ruben is an incredible teenager from Brixton, South London. Ahead of London he had won a competition to take on a space in the famous Brixton Village where he was going to open a small space serving Ruben Sandwiches. The name was a gift you might say. Since lockdown took hold he has taken what he learnt smoking from his Rubens and put it towards all sorts, from cold smoked salmon to all sorts of cuts of meat. He now sell Taco Kits and sells out in no time. He’s a success story of the times. Below is a sequence of stills taken from the day, but keep an eye out for upcoming film work I’ve collaborated on with Archie Thomas coming soon.

At the start of 2021 I teamed up with Food Stylist extraordinaire and food production champions Food Hall to create four films for Lurpak’s digital channels. I directed the four recipe films to introduce Lurpak Lighter, we were tasked with displaying simplicity via method and limited ingredients while still making our films look delicious.

I’ve been chatting with the brilliant Ravneet Gill about getting together for a couple of projects for years. We were lucky enough to do some filming together last year and wanted to snap some stills for her brand new baking school. Along with the brilliant Lauren Miller we snapped some sweet treats that tasted even better than they look.

After a life of making ice cream in restaurants and home kitchens Jack put everything he had into starting Jack's Gelato, back in 2010, and hasn't looked back.

Jack serves up what for my money is the best gelato in the UK and to be honest it’s better than any i’ve had anywhere including Italy (controversial I know.) Jack is based in the centre of Cambridge and has two shops serving up different scoops each day. He makes all the traditional flavours as well as some more controversial ones including some boozy favourites of mine, Stout, Nikka Japanese Whisky and Sherry Ice Cream.

I joined Jack in the shop for a couple of hours to shoot a couple of his scoops.

At the end of 2020 I was asked by the good folks at Johnnie Walker to produce along with Food Hall and direct a series of recipe cocktail films.

With the world changing under covid these tabletop cocktail recipes were to encourage Johnnie customers to get creative and bring these cocktails into their own homes. This beauty is the classic Whisky Sour renamed here as the Johnnie Sunset Whisky Sour.

Brand new work for Mcdonalds as part of a larger advertising campaign for their Breakfast offering. These Out-of-home still life/food photography executions show the “aftermath” of enjoying a McDonald’s breakfast, with only the wrapper and crumbs left over.
